Here are links to several websites that examine some of the primary popular choices out there – beer, wine, Scotch, bourbon and tequila.
www.wineloverspage.com – purported to be the oldest “wine lovers” website out there, and it’s a great one. All kinds of handy info, and links to all manner of other wine-related sites.
www.brucecochran.com – the website of Arkansas’s premier wine guru. Here you will learn about Bruce’s wine classes, wine trips, monthly wine tastings at Cajun’s Wharf in Little Rock and Oak Street Bistro in Conway and periodic wine dinners. Remember that you can pick up Bruce’s monthly wine newsletters free at Boulevard! www.winespectator.com – site for what’s arguably the top wine publication. Getting to the ratings and other juiciest stuff requires a paid membership. www.beerchurch.com – for folks who worship (literally or figuratively) that wonderful hoppy, malty beverage. Tons of information here on styles and other beer-related topics. www.malts.com – a great compendium of Scotch information, including a map that shows the distilling regions of Scotland, answers many common questions about types of Scotch and even offers a free Scotch journal (which you’ll be able to download since, for some reason, Arkansas is listed as a state illegal to ship the journal to) www.straightbourbon.com – wow, who knew that there was this much info and discussion available about Kentucky’s No. 1 import (other than thoroughbreds, maybe)? FAQs, discussion forums, etc. – this site has it all for the bourbon lover. www.tequilaplanet.com – recipes, expert reviews, etc. If it’s 100 percent blue agave, expect to find out about it here. And here are links to information about Maumelle and the area:
